7 Ways to Grow on Twitter:
Twitter's algorithm changes and conflicting advice can be confusing for new creators.
How do you actually grow on Twitter while maintaining high engagement?
I built an audience of over 600 people in 60 days.
Here's how I would do it again.
1) Optimize your profile
First impressions matter. Your profile is often the first full impression that potential followers see.
Banner essentials:
Visuals
Your niche
Brand colors
Bio essentials:
Social proof
Target audience
What you can offer
A/B test with birdy.so
Profile picture essentials:
Smiling
Clear image
Facing forward
2) Create valuable content
A lot of people say similar things on Twitter. To stand out, make your content highly actionable.
If your tweet can be broken into multiple high quality tweets, you're on the right track.
3) Engage with others
Reciprocity is the name of the game. If you comment on people's tweets, they'll do the same for you.
Comment at most 30 times per session to avoid a shadow ban.
4) Send personalized DMs
DMs allow you to build relationships with people who can become friends or mentors.
Send a mix of cold and warm DMs to develop new relationships and nurture existing ones.
5) Avoid external links in your original tweets
External links can tank your tweet's reach.
Put external in a second tweet after the first tweet has gained traction.
6) Add a pinned tweet
Your pinned tweet or thread should be one of your best performing pieces.
Choose a tweet or thread that gives profile viewers an idea of your niche.
7) Analyze your tweets
Twitter Analytics is a good place to start. Make note of topics and hooks that performed exceptionally well.
You can use those topics and hooks for future tweets after a few weeks.
Twitter Growth TL; DR:
Optimize your profile
Create valuable content
Engage with others
Send personalized DMs
Avoid external links
Add a pinned tweet
Analyze your tweets
